It highlights the C7 spinous process as the most prominent palpable feature at this region. (B) The valleculae are found between the roots of the tongue and the epiglottis. The boundaries of the pyriform sinus are also shown, bordered laterally by the thyroid cartilage and medially by the aryepiglottic fold, corniculate cartilage, and cuneiform cartilage.
